Finding My Muse

Trying to find my muse in a muse”less” day but I’ve assured my PR Manager a blog post by tonight so here it is. Hmmm, I guess one place to start is with one of my Christmas gifts. I know, I know, it’s not even Thanksgiving yet. But then I tend to get all my shopping done early. And then since it is just Ben and me, we exchange them as they come in. I try to order gifts from Foundations and smaller companies to save on the gift wrap, the dogs peeing on them and of course my complete lack of patience.

So digressing here, but wanted to give you a little back story.  Anyhoo, one of the gifts I got for Ben (and I) is a deck of random acts of kindness cards. Now, this is not just ordinary ideas, the idea behind these are that you register the card online and then once completed, you can either give the card to the recipient or someone completely else. You then tell the story online (linked to that card) and then you can track that card as it makes its journey.  I think that is so cool.

So cool in fact that my 3 nieces are each getting a “teen” deck for Christmas. Don’t worry, they have more important things to do than read Aunt Melanie’s blogs. But I am hoping it gets them away from their phones long enough to start making a change.

There are family cards, “green” cards and others – I am so excited to get started with our first card. It’s been registered and we will be fulfilling it this Wednesday during our normal weekly coffee outing. We plan on buying a few strangers a few cups of coffee (or lattes) and then passing the card on. I look forward to following its journey and its story.

If you are interested in finding out more about these decks – please shoot me an email at contact@milrichassociates.com.

And as Ghandi said “Be the change you want to see in the world” and who can’t use a little more kindness in their day. I guess I found my muse after all.
